The college has initiated vermi- composting in a medial scale and which is showing good results already. This fertilizers are already being packed and ready for sell. Beside this, the college has initiated the Bokashi Bin Method of Fertilizer Production- which degrades biodegradable kitchen wastes - to prepare fertilizer. The 1st Bokashi Bin Unit was initiated by Dr. Anindita Mandal Majhee. After successful trials were conducted, this year the college is planning to sell the prepared fertilizers as a token of green initiatives.
Outcome of the Initiative: • The prepared vermi-compost and bokashi Fertilizer is being bought by college teachers, students and staffs who have keen interest in gardening and regularly applies in their gardens. • The vermicomposting methods are demonstrated to students so as they could gain interest in this integrative procedure and eco-friendly activities. • Selling is encouraged so that students can take up it as their future mode of entrepreneurship. • A center of discussion for students about any kind of problem in this field.
